7/30 Nanta Fever Night

DealKo Points: **/*****
- Not because of the quality of the show but more because of the way that it was organized.

Because we had such a good turn out the last time we had the Nanta discount deal, Henry and Herbie managed to talk to the manager, and we were able to get 30 discounted seats for Fever Night.

Originally the 30 seats had to be in some combination of 1st and 2nd floor. Then, some other organizational issues popped up from the Nanta side (e.g., no 2nd floor seats being available, emerging the 8:00pm show with the 10:30pm show, etc.), but DealiciousKorea was lucky enough to use the opportunity to get all of our 30 seats as 1st floor seats.

Now, the deal seemed to be working out perfectly, and since we had done the same event before, the DealiciousKorea gang decided to focus more of our time on working on the website and specifying the Busan Trip.

BAD IDEA..........................

Stupid thing DealKo did #1: Announcing the wrong show time
Yeah..The show time was 8pm. We wrote 8:30pm. We had 8:30pm on for 2 weeks. None of us saw it.

Stupid thing DealKo did #2: Not double checking the guest list
We missed 2 people our guest list. First time that has ever happened, and something that will never happen again.

Just when we thought we got the worst of it, our friends had issues with getting the 1 free drink deal at Mansion (included in the event, sponsored and planned by Nanta). Herbie probably lost 5 lbs from all the stress that night...

All in all, despite the mishaps, the show itself was wonderful, and we were once again reminded that this was THE must see show in Korea.
Crazy good savings!

6/24 Cupig's Summer Hook Up

I don't even remember why I went to Soundholicity. I mean, I went to meet Michael Suh (Good Times Productions), Herbie, and the owner of Soundholicity. We had a few questions to ask, and afterwards, we were supposed to part.

However, one discussion led to another, and we eventually ended up planning a summer themed party. We came up with an idea of having a stop light party with waiters like a booking club. These waiters, we first wanted to call them cupids, but since the majority of the cupids were and are still overweight (majority meaning the DealKo board members), Victoria and I came up with the name "Cupig."

Cupig #0: Woo Hyun!! The ONLY ONE WHO TOOK OFF HIS SHIRT!!!

Cupig #1: Jaime, DealKo VIP member

Cupig #2: Herbie, DealKo Board Member. Trying to cover his stomach with a fake six pack.

She just wanted to try on the costume.

Cupig #3: Nick, DealKo Board Member. Nick is currently on a diet.

The fat cupigs and Layne.

With all of the costumes on, we got ready to get the party started.
Setting up the table.

Turned on the television screens.

Doors open!

Come in~!
To ease the mingling process, our friend Ginny and Nick the Cupig went up on stage to MC and lead group games for alcohol prizes.

Ginny and Nick, Cupig #3.

Dance to win a bottle of Tequila!

And the party really started..

Music presented to you by Dante.
Overall, it was a great night (or so I hear) despite the rain.

6/18 Go Kart with DealiciousKorea

In Jamsil, there is the infamous go karting venue, Jamsil Kart. Many companies choose to go kart as a team activity, amateur racers race for fun, and actual go kart races are held.

Once again, our magical Henry, was able to talk to the Jamsil Kart owner to give our DealiciousKorea friends a discount to kart. The Jamsil Kart owner at first said that he would only be able to give the discount on a weekdays. However, somehow, Henry charmed the guy and pulled off a discount for a Saturday. Simply amazing!

Hi Henry! You are a good racer but..
I beat you.

While the rest of the DealiciousKorea team went off to the tracks to set up, Herbie waited in front of Jamsil station to greet our group.
Such a hot day..
Once the group arrived, the DealKo team started giving out drinks and Krispy Kreme donuts. We also had beer, but then Jamsil Kart forbade us from giving out alcohol since it would be drunk driving..
The event..honestly put was disorganized. While we were promised to have the entire track to ourselves, we found out that this wasn't the case. So, our members had to wait for a good while to get on their karts. This was painful as the day was HOT and unexpected.
Waiting...
And waiting...
Oh my god, FINALLY!!
Getting ready to go.
Let the race begin!
Vroom 1
Vroom 2
Pros racing while we sat out in the sun :(
It was a long wait for everyone, and the DealKo team felt horrible. Luckily though, most of the participants were understanding, which was very fortunate for us.
Sorry for the wait!

6/4 Poongwall Soul Kitchen

Henry is magical. One day he was web browsing on Naver and finds out that Poongwall, an izakaya in Chungdam, is having some party. Then, he just calls Poongwall, explains about DealiciousKorea, and convinces Poongwall to let our members in for free. Amazing.

Henry (he's single!)

Despite the short notice, about 50 of our DealKo friends made it out to the event and were able to enjoy unlimited catered food. The best part of the food was that the menu changed constantly (about every 40 mintues or so). The izakaya also had a terrace where a DJ booth was set up (where our friends grooved throughout the night).
Way into Poongwall.

Some people went straight for drinks.

While some went for food..

While people were enjoying their food and drinks, the DJ (host of this party) started setting up.

And as it goes for all DealKo events, people started mingling.

After the DJ was done playing, we had a saxophone player come in, as well as Henry's lady friends, who, except for one, claim are single.

Henry's lady friends
And, yes, we took a group picture before we parted. Sadly, we weren't able to capture everyone who came to the event.

Crazy good savings!
